Revlon Foundation For Dry Skin: Review and Swatches.

Hi My Beautiful Readers,

revlon foundation dry skin

Revlon Colorstay Makeup For Normal/Dry Skin Review:

Finding the ideal foundation according to your skin type can be a long life job, however some women never find the perfect match according to their skin type.  Most of my fellows and friends had request me to do a review on any drugstore foundation for normal/dry skin. After viewing so many positive reviews on different drugstore foundations for dry skin  I choose  revlon  foundation for dry skin and gave it to my sister who has dry skin for better compliment. Revlon colorstay foundation is known to be one of the best foundation in the drugstore and it is available in two variations the one is revlon foundation for oily skin and the other is revlon colorstay foundation  for normal/dry skin. Most of the foundations on dry/ sensitive skin used to clog the pores and the key for dry skin type is hydration. So it is good to find the foundation that allows your skin to breathe and hydrates. Did I find the key while using this foundation? or is revlon colorstay is good for dry skin? Keep reading to find that out.

My Experience With Revlon  Foundation For Dry Skin:

This foundation comes in a 30 ml glass bottle with a black screw on lid which makes it very risky to carry while travelling. accidentally most of the product goes waste while pouring out into the hand which is quite irritating so be careful while handling. This foundation comes without pump but now it comes with pump in most of the country. The foundation has a descent consistency. It is not very thick or excessively runny however it seems to a bit on the thinner side. It spreads equally and effectively on the skin. You can apply with both beauty blender or sponge and brush as well. But I have noticed that application with makeup brush works great. It does not feel heavy or cakey but leaving your skin looks silky and smooth finish. It dries out so quickly so you have to do a section of your face at a time and be very quick with the blending. If you face any issues with blending so you can use any light moisturizing primer underneath. It gives a medium-full coverage and is buildable if necessary. It offers any kind of coverage you need it.  For a very subtle coverage it can be sheered out, just to even out your skin tone and a full coverage is also possible with it when you need it. It has a demi-matte finish which provides your skin  a nice glow  without looking your face greasy or shiny by the end of the day . It feels light on the face and it didn't crease and didn't cling to any existing dry patches. In most of the reviews many people do complain about its formula  that isn't  moisturizing  enough  for extremely dry skin so I will recommend a good moisturizing primer underneath, but my sister didn't face any kind of that issue with her. Sometimes one product might be best for you but might be it didn't works for others at the same time.  It  didn't  breakout  or  transfer anywhere at all.   It can only covers tiny scars and dark spots but still concealer will be needed as it will not cover everything. The wear time is pretty long lasting as it can last 6-8 hours depending on the activities. It didn't oxidize  no flakiness no visible pores either. It removes effectively with makeup remover however not completely with any soap or water. The foundation contains very strong yet not unpleasant fragrance but not very obvious when you put it on but might be irritated for sensitive nose. Only the downside part of this foundation is that it settles into fine lines and could accentuate the wrinkles. This product has limited color selection, so choosing a right match according to your skin tone might be an issue for you.
Overall my sister is completely satisfied with this product and I will recommended to all my  normal/dry skinned beauties.

Pros:

1- Easily available.
2- Long wearing with medium-full coverage.
3- Covers almost all imperfections.
4-Didn't feel heavy or cakey.

6-Doesn't make the face look greasy or shiny by the end of the day.
7- Provides a matte finish but never dries out the face.
8- No crease ,breakout or dry patches issues have been found while using it.

Cons:

1-No pump provided with.
2-Strong smell, not unpleasant but noticeable for sensitive nose.
3- Dries out quickly.
4- Can't remove with any soap or water.
5- settles into fine lines and exagerates the wrinkles.
6- Limited color selection so finding the perfect match might be an issue.
7- Bit pricey.

Price and Availability:

Revlon Colorsaty foundation is available at  drugstore for $ 12.99 which looks quite reasonable price but here in Pakistan it is available at  daraz.pk for PKR 2410 and at some local cosmetic stores though the prices have been raised up now so it seems a bit pricey according to me.

  8. I have been thinking of trying Revlon foundations and the finish of this looks really nice in your swatch but the shade range is such a bummer for me and I have smile lines so that has gotten me worried. Though I still want to check this out. :) x
